HydroArmor® 8800BL is a sprayable water-based coating designed to quickly build a high level of water resistance. It is formulated to provide excellent adhesion to stainless steel, wood, and composite decking and to provide very good corrosion protection when applied with a wet film thickness as low as 0.020". This coating can be easily sprayed onto exposed underbody areas, and wet film builds of 0.040" can be applied without runs, drips, or sags.

  • Low density formula provides good protection with minimal added weight
  • Excellent adhesion to stainless steel, wood, and composite decking and to provide very good corrosion protection
  • Easily sprayed onto overhead and vertical surfaces to seal joints
Product Highlights
  • HydroArmor® 8800BL is an extremely durable anti-corrosion coating even when exposed to demanding service conditions:
  1. Several days at 121°C (250°F) and 38°C/100% relative humidity does not affect the dried film.
  2. When test panels were subjected the “Gravelometer” at -30°C (-22°F), the rocks did not penetrate the coating.
  3. After 1,000 hours in the salt spray cabinet, the HydroArmor® coating remains intact, and there is no corrosion under the coating.
  • HydroArmor® 8800BL is as safe to use and as easy to clean up as water-based house paint.
  • It provides as good as or better anticorrosion protection than any of the competitive products on the market without the environmental and safety problems inherent in many of the undercoating products available today.

Applications & Uses

Application

Drying Profile

  • Dry at ambient conditions above 55°F.
  • HydroArmor® dries quickly at ambient temperatures and can typically be handled within 30 minutes of application.
  • If the coating is not baked, it will completely dry in 24 hours or less. Drying is slowed by high humidity and poor air circulation.
Factor Shorter Time to Dry Longer Time to Dry
Coating Thickness Thinner Coating Thicker Coating
Air Flow More Air Flow Less Air Flow
Temperature Hotter Temperatures Colder Temperatures
Humidity Less Humidity More Humidity

Application Instructions

  • As with any coating the surface to be coated should be clean and dry prior to application of the HydroArmor® 8800BL.
  • We recommend that a minimum coating thickness of 0.020” be applied for optimum performance.
  • Product can be brushed, rolled or sprayed onto surface.

Clean-Up

  • HydroArmor® can be cleaned from the equipment and overspray with water while wet. Dried material can be removed with Methyl Ethyl Ketone.
