Swift®lock 9053 is a single-component, fully reactive hot melt polyurethane adhesive that cross-links through a chemical reaction with moisture found in the surrounding air and substrates, resulting in a thermoset adhesive. It was specifically formulated for use in the assembly of recreational vehicle subcomponents, such as skins, composite walls, floors, ceilings, and front caps.

Features & Benefits

Product Benefits
Bright Blue Color

Easy to spot with the naked eye. UV indicator and black light not required. Easy identification of low spots in the substrates to help avoid potential delaminations. Easy management of coating weight variations; cost savings.

Patented Fully Reactive Technology

In addition to the many other benefits of this technology, bonded assemblies including darkly colored materials posses exceptional heat resistance.

Enhanced Adhesion

Adheres to many lower surface tension substrates and higher density foam materials at temperatures.

Excellent Creep Resistance at High Temperatures

Cured adhesive film is extremely tough yet flexible. This allows for differences in thermal expansion and contraction of various substrates without sacrificing bond performance.

Excellent Environmental Resistance

Cures to form a very strong bond that is resistant to heat, cold, moisture, and many solvents.

Versatility

Adheres to a wide variety of core stocks and skins.

Applications & Uses

Cure Method
Suggested Application
  • Swift®lock 9053 was specifically formulated for use in the assembly of recreational vehicle subcomponents, including skins, composite walls, floors, ceilings and front caps. Substrates typically bonded include FRP, aluminum, lauan and other plywoods.
  • Cutting edge technology allows 9053 to quickly build green strength while simultaneously delivering extended open time often necessary for assembling large and complex components. 9053 unique formulation also provides fiber tearing bonds very quickly, as well as providing deep foam tear at -20ºF, room temperature and 180ºF. It is blue in color and very visible, so the use of black lights or UV indicators is not required.
Use Precautions

Product is ready-to-use as received; do not dilute hot melt adhesive. Confirm compatibility before making hot melt adhesive changes.
