- Directions for Use
- The bonding surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease, with a cause value of 38 to 42 mN/m.
- For the headliner bonding, suitable for use in the ambient temperature of 20 to 35 °C, the ambient temperature is higher than 30 °C, the thickness of the adhesive layer needs <1mm, for the bonding of ABS bracket, the bracket temperature resistance needs to be > 100 °C.
- For the second activation of the trunk trim bonding, suitable for use in the ambient temperature 15 to 35 °C, the melting temperature of the adhesive layer ≥ 90 °C, the adhesive layer temperature ≥ 60 °C at the moment of lamination, heating the substrate in winter is more effective.
- For metal substrates, it needs to be heated to 40 to 50°C to obtain good bonding effect.
- Pre-surface treatment with primer or equipment for difficult-to- adhere materials such as PP.
- As long as PK-9823D3 is not cured application equipment can be cleaned with PUR melt cleaner (PK-9302) ,cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically.
- It is recommended to use a special glue melting machine for moisture reactive hot melt adhesive. The use of ordinary glue melting equipment may cause the product to contact with water and gas in the air due to poor airtightness, resulting in curing and damage to the glue melting machine.
- Curing Profile
- To obtain complete cure, this product should be exposed to temperatures and relative humidity conditions greater than or equal to 25 °C and 50% RH. For adhesive film thicknesses 0.5mm or less, cure is typically completed in 7days under these conditions. Complete cure will take longer at lower temperatures and lower RH. Cure rates and completeness of cure will vary with adhesive fil thickness and substrate's water permeability. Consult your H.B. Fuller representative for more information.
- Work Instructions
- Recommended operating temperature: 130 ~ 150 °C, the temperature can start to use after reaching the set temperature for 20min.
- Application method: special glue gun, mechanical arm or special glue melting machine with functions of protecting glue from moisture and precise temperature control.
- Coverage: 80 - 120g/m (depending on the peeling strength requirements).
- After being unsealed, it needs to be used up completely. The resealing and preservation force is poor, and the original container is the best.
- Every time when replacing new glue, for the platen type melting machine, the glue skin on the surface of the platen must be cleaned, and for the melting cylinder type melting machine, the glue skin on the inner wall must be cleaned, and the residual glue must be avoided to be heated and carbonized for a long time, which will cause blockage in the new glue.
- When the hot melt glue machine stops using 0.5 to 2h time, the melting temperature needs to be adjusted to the insulation temperature (70 ~ 90°C) to avoid long time heating of the glue, when the hot melt glue machine stops using more than 2h, it is recommended to turn off the heating.
- When the equipment is suspended, it is necessary to apply high-temperature grease to the gun head position (to isolate the air), and when it resumes use, wipe off the grease and exclude a small amount of glue to ensure that the grease is drained.
