⅛" 26-29 sq.ft. 10-11.5 sq.ft.
¼" 13-14 sq.ft. 5-5.5 sq.ft.
½" 6-7 sq.ft. 2.5-2.75 sq.ft.
Suitable Substrates
  • Concrete
  • Cement backerboards
  • Concrete terrazzo
  • Ceramic tile, pavers, brick
  • Quarry tile
  • Exterior grade plywood, C-C (plugged) or better
  • Exterior Grade Lauan Plywood—Type I Trademarked Exterior Grade, OVL, CC, BB, OVL face grades only (Note: Lauan plywood is an unacceptable substrate for the installation of resilient, ceramic or marble tile)
  • Vinyl composition tile (VCT), embossed resilient floor coverings must be single layer and well bonded to an approved substrate.
  • Adhesive residue (except for tacky or pressure sensitive adhesive)
  • Gypsum substrates—minimum tensile bond strength 72 psi (0.5 MPa)
Substrate Preparation
  • All surfaces must be structurally sound, dry and free from oil, grease, dust, loose or peeling paint, sealers, floor finishes, curing compounds or any contaminant that would prevent a good bond.
  • Concrete and cementitious substrates must be fully cured and free of any hydrostatic pressure or excessive moisture [15 lb. per 1000 ft2 (0.07 kg/m2 ) per 24 hours, RH 99% or lower].
  • TEC® VersaPatch® can be installed over green concrete with RH of 99% or less. This product is not a moisture vapor barrier.
  • If substrate moisture content exceeds the maximum allowed by the flooring manufacturer, then moisture mitigation must be applied prior to application of VersaPatch®.
  • To reduce moisture vapor emissions to an acceptable level, use TEC® LiquiDamTM Penetrating Moisture Vapor Barrier or LiquiDam EZTM Moisture Vapor Barrier.
  • All surface protrusions must be removed by sanding, scraping or chipping. Remove all dust by vacuuming. Not recommended for use over expansion or control joints.
Limitations Information
  • Only for interior use.
  • Do not use where there is hydrostatic pressure or excessive moisture conditions.
  • Not for use as a wear surface or to patch over sealed concrete, epoxy terrazzo, tempered hardboard, particle board, strip wood flooring, over heavily cushioned flooring or perimeter bonded flooring.
  • Do not apply when the temperature is below 50°F (10°C).
Application Instruction

For best results, VersaPatch® Latex Modified Floor Patch and room should be at 50°F to 70°F (10°-21°C) for 24 hours before, during and 48 hours after installation. In a clean mixing container, add product to clean, cool, water as specified in the chart.

  • Add powder to liquid for ease of mixing. Mix thoroughly to a smooth, lump-free consistency.
  • For smaller amounts use a ratio of 3 parts powder to 1 part water.
  • Avoid breathing dust and contact with eyes and skin.
  • Avoid using high speed mixing - not to exceed 300 rpm.
  • Mix only as much patching compound as can be used in 10 to 15 minutes. Use immediately.
Recommended Applications
  • Immediately after mixing, work the VersaPatch® into the void to be filled with a flat steel trowel and then finish to a level surface to the required smoothness. The working time for this product is 10 to 15 minutes depending upon the temperature.
  • High temperature will shorten the working time. For repairs greater than 1⁄2" (12 mm) in thickness, you will need two applications, allowing the first application to set before applying the second. Do not exceed a total thickness of 1" (25 mm) of VersaPatch®. Do not overwork the product.
Curing

VersaPatch® is fast drying and can accept foot traffic and the installation of most floor covering materials within 30-45 minutes. Protect from excessive heat or drafty conditions during curing period.

Cleaning Instructions

Wash tools, hands and equipment with warm soapy water while material is still fresh.
