SILAPRENE® DC 14079 is a high-quality polychloroprene-based contact adhesive specifically designed to bond various rubber and plastic materials to wood, metal, and fiberglass surfaces, as well as themselves. This adhesive is ideal for light-colored vinyl-coated fabrics as it does not stain.

Surface preparation:

  • Clean, dry, dust-free surfaces are required for optimum bond strength. Surface temperatures should be maintained at temperatures above 40°F.

Application methods:

Suitable spray equipment is listed below. Others are available as well.

  • Binks HVLP BBR Mach I with 0.055 - 0.070 fluid tip
  • Graco Delta with 0.055 - 0.070 fluid tip
  • Devilbiss JGMV530 with 0.055 - 0.070 fluid tip

Always stir adhesive well prior to use. DC14079 is suitable for use with most any spray equipment, drying & lamination equipment

Clean - up:

  • Toluene is recommended for cleaning equipment and Acetone for over spray. Other solvents will provide varying degrees of cleaning capability.
