Foster® Fos-Stik™ Adhesive 85-45 is a fast-tacking aerosol spray adhesive with low soak-in properties. It is employed for bonding various insulation materials to metal or other construction surfaces, offering quick adhesion and strong initial adhesive strength. This adhesive can be applied as either a one-way wet adhesive or a two-way contact cement.

Product Highlights
  • Foster® Fos-Stik™ Adhesive 85-45 is waterproof, flexible, transparent, and non-staining. It contains no chlorinated solvents or ozone depleters. It cleans up easily with mineral spirits.
  • Foster® Fos-Stik™ Adhesive 85-45 can also be used for adhering difficult substrates like polyethylene film, phenolic, polyolefin, elastomeric foam, or most plastics, leather, wood, and cloth.
  • Foster® Fos-Stik™ Adhesive 85-45 meets the requirements of LEED 2009 Certification: Indoor Environmental Quality – Credit 4.1 (Low-Emitting Materials: Adhesives and Sealants). This product meets the standard for web spray aerosol adhesive when the requirement is less than 55% VOC.

Preparation and Application Information

Material Preparation

Always shake well before using. Apply only to clean, dry surfaces that are free from dust, dirt, and oil.

Application

Never aim valve at face. Hold can upright and apply adhesive in a side to side motion 10 - 14 inches from surface. Surface should be clean and dry. Spray at 60°F - 90°F for best results. After each use, tip can upside down and press tip until spray is free of adhesive. For more permanent bonds, apply adhesive to both surfaces to be mated, spraying the adhesive in opposite directions on each surface. Allow adhesive to tack, then press together using firm, hard pressure to assure intimate contact across the entire bonding surface. Use care in placement since the bond will not be adjustable once contacted.

Safety

DANGER! extremly flammable liwuid and vapor may cause flash fire. Use with adequate ventilation. Consult can label and safety data sheet for product hazards and precautions in use.

Clean Up
To clean up, use mineral spirits (flammable) or chlorinated solvents (non-flammable).

Limitations

Not intended for use on vinyl.
