Applications & Uses
- Cleaning Information
-
- Clean tools immediately after use.
- Appropriate cleaners are listed in the product properties table.
- Cleaner for Tools - Helmitin® 676/2
- Preparation Information
-
- The surfaces to be bonded must be dry, clean, free of grease and free of dust to ensure a reliable bonding.
- Adhesive must be stirred well before use. The hardener must be incorporated homogeneously.
- Pretreatment of Metal - To improve the adhesion on metal surface, we recommend applying our Swift®prime 2903 before coating with the adhesive.
- Processing Information
-
- Apply adhesive evenly with a suitable application method on the two parts to be bonded.
- After the recommended waiting time (flash-off time) put the parts accurately together and press.
- The waiting time depends on the ambient temperature, thickness of the adhesive film and absorbency of the surfaces.
- The surfaces to be bonded should be placed together when the adhesive film is still slightly sticky but does not stick to the finger when it is pressed lightly. The parts have to be bonded together within the Contact bonding time.
- When bonding rubber to rubber, it is recommended to apply the adhesive twice, waiting at least 10 minutes after the first application for the adhesive to dry.
- When bonding textiles the adhesive must be applied three times to achieve a good adhesion (in this case, too, at least 10 minutes should be allowed for drying of the adhesive after each application).
- Suitable Substrates - Rubber, various steel alloys, various metals and textile.
- Application Method - Brush With spatula
- Product Application
-
- Application of rubber coating to steel-rollers
- Production and repair of conveyor belts
