Preparation:(22L)
- USE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA
- Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and dust free.
- Once the hose and gun has been attached to the canister, open the valve fully. Check the connection points for leaks at this time.
- On first use, the canister may initially take a few seconds to spray correctly. Spray initially onto on a scrap surface to ensure the spray pattern is correct for the application. The trigger restrictor on the gun can be used to set the spray to the required width.
Application:
- Hold the gun at 90° to the surface, approximately 4-6 inches away and apply a uniform coat of adhesive to the required substrates.
- Apply adhesive in 4-6 inch bands overlapping each band by roughly 50%, with a double coat applied to the edges. Move at a steady pace that provides an even coat of adhesive without allowing any material to puddle. For most applications, 80-100% adhesive coverage is required for full bond strength. On porous materials, a second coat of adhesive may be necessary.
- Allow the solvents to evaporate from the adhesive (1-2 minutes depending on ambient temperature). To know when the adhesive is ready to bond, it should not transfer to a gloved hand when touched and should feel dry. Bonding the substrates before the solvents have been allowed to evaporate can cause solvent entrapment resulting in bond failures.
- Carefully position the two substrates. Once brought together an aggressive bond will rapidly form.
- Apply a uniform pressure over the work piece, starting in the middle and working outwards.
- Whilst Tuskbond FD170 forms a very strong initial bond, a full cure will take up to 24 hours.

- Disposal Information
- Once the aerosol is empty of any hazardous materials and depressurised, it can be considered as scrap metal, in accordance with the national or local waste company, under code EWC 15 01 04* (empty aerosol, non-hazardous residues).
- Aerosols that are still pressurised and contain product should be disposed of in accordance with the national or local waste company under code EWC 16 05 04* (full or partially empty aerosol).
- Canisters and aerosols that are still pressurised and contain product should be disposed of in accordance with the national or local waste company under code EWC 16 05 04* (full or partially empty aerosol).
- Storage & Shelf Life
- Protect from extremes of temperature in a controlled environment between 15 and 35°C, and away from direct sunlight. Do not stand on a cold concrete floor. Low temperatures can result in irreparable separation of the adhesive.
- Stored under the correct conditions, in original, unopened containers, the product will have a shelf life of 12 months. The adhesive will have a limited life once the container is opened.
