Foster® Pumpable Cold Sealer 10-42

1 of 73 products in this brand
Foster® Pumpable Cold Sealer 10-42 is a specialized sealant designed for metal air ducts. It offers unique characteristics such as non-skinning, high-solids composition, and non-setting properties, making it ideal for sealing seams and joints. One of its notable features is its ability to remain soft and flexible, even when subjected to thermal cycling across a wide temperature range. This flexibility ensures that the seal remains intact, preventing damage due to temperature variations.

Preparation and Application Information

Material Preparation

Do not thin. Apply only to clean, dry, oil-free surfaces. Keep container closed when not in use.

Application

Designed to be applied with power (pressure) operated equipment or with a bulk-filled, hand caulking gun. Apply a small bead in the seam or joint area and squeeze together for tightness. No open time is necessary.

Power Extrusion - Lock Joint Forming Machines

Foster® Pumpable Cold Sealer may be applied using a wide variety of power (pressure) extrusion equipment suitable for use with solvent-based sealants. It has a typical viscosity range of 200,000 - 400,000 cps. Pumps must include a suitable pail or drum ram and follower plate to prevent cavitation and assure complete emptying of the container. For best application, the material temperature should be 60°F or higher.

Clean Up
Use solvent such as mineral spirits (flammable) or chlorinated solvent (non-flammable) for cleaning tools and equipment.

Features & Benefits

Product Highlights
  • Pumpable Cold Sealer has excellent adhesion to a wide variety of non-porous surfaces. It provides an air-tight, long- lasting seal for metal-to-metal joints and seams.
  • Mechanical fasteners of the type and number normally used for duct assemblies are required to provide rigidity to the duct system.
  • Pumpable Cold Sealer has a fiber free and grit free formulation that will not clog pumps, hoses or nozzles. Pumpable Cold Sealer meets requirements for LEED IEQ 4.1 Low-Emitting Materials, Adhesives and Sealants.
