- ElastiSeal® 6098 is used to seal and waterproof steel joints.
- It has been used on passenger rail cars for more than fifty years.
- In service, this sealant remains permanently flexible and gives corrosion protection for the life of the vehicle.
- Typical Applications
-
ElastiSeal® 6098 can be applied as a bead or spread as a paste. Welds may be made through the sealer from 10 minutes to 72 hours after application. (“Spitting” may occur if welding is performed before solvent escapes). This sealer is unaffected by conventional industrial paint bakes. Excess material may be wiped off with mineral spirits; use mineral spirits to clean tools and equipment.

- Prevents corrosion in a variety of steel spot welds - Including stainless steel
- Weldable with conventional spot welders (Permits conventional spot welding and prevents moisture and oxygen from entering the joint)
- Remains permanently flexible and elastic
- Will not stain or bleed through most primers and paints
- Not affected by paint bake temperatures up to 90°C (195°F)
- Permanently flexible and does not effect weld strength
- Corrosion protection in unprimed seam
