Application Instructions

Surface preparation

  • All surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from frost, grease, and loose materials.
  • When cleaning contaminated substrates, HS Butyl recommends using propan-2-ol (IPA) and allowing it to dry before applying the butyl tape.

Application

  • Apply directly from the reel onto one surface and press along its entire length to ensure good initial adhesion.
  • Remove the backing paper, position the other surface onto the butyl tape, and push firmly to seal across the joint.
  • Use a roller with firm pressure to ensure a good bond.
Product Application
  • For use as an air, dust, or water seal for compression joints and seams.
  • For water sealing applications in vehicle construction.
  • For fixing ridge tile flashing/membranes.
