Surface preparation:
- All surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from frost, grease, and loose materials.
- When cleaning contaminated substrates, HS Butyl recommends using propan-2-ol (IPA) and allowing it to dry before applying the butyl tape.
Application:
- Apply directly from the reel onto one surface and press along its entire length to ensure good initial adhesion.
- Remove the backing paper, position the other surface onto the butyl tape, and push firmly to seal across the joint.
- When applying from drums, use a drum pump heated to 140-160°C, for good flow, a gear pump is the best solution.
- Product Application
-
- For sealing lap joints in roofing and cladding systems.
